Something for Holy Week

This is not very Presbyterian I know, but it is full of the love of Jesus Christ. And it is about Holy Week and Jesus Christ. Keith Green, when he first began to sing about Jesus, came to Ware House Ministries to hold concerts. That is the Church my husband and I, and our six children attended over twenty years ago. A lot of us are talking about missional these days; this was God's idea of missional for the very early seventies and on. A lot of broken, hippie young people, wearied of their summer's of free love, drugs and gurus, started looking for reality. God was already there reaching for them. The love of Jesus Christ met them even on the nudest beaches of Southern California and in the midst of the wilting flower children of Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco.

That Rocks! I'm swiping it for my Facebook page.

Your last post was interesting, over my head. You are my new Book of Order Queen.

Hi Sam,

Thanks, but for the Book of Order Queen title I think I will let you keep the crown:)

But I am glad you like the video.

I grew up playing piano and learning Keith Green songs. "Easter Song" (his arr.) is one of my very favorite. I have played it (privately) as the beginning of my own Easter morning prep for some 25 yrs. now. And this year we are singing it in Easter morning worship!

He is risen!

Robert,
I would like to be at your worship service.

Alan,
I have been looking for some Second Chapter of Acts too, but can't find any. They also came to Sacramento and the Ware house would feature them, but not use them in concert because they charged for their concerts and we would not since it was meant as outreach. However, they also used our pastor to give a message once in awhile.

I long for the church that will give its heart as Keith Green gave his. Ever since Christ came into my life, Keith Green has been a teacher of mine. I hope and pray that we can find the humility to just allow Jesus to use us as He used Keith. Jesus lives. Alleluia!

Thanks for the Keith Green/Easter Song reminder and the walk down memory lane - fondness of hearing Mr. Green at Calvary Chapel concerts. I have downloaded the song for our contemp. early service for Sunday. Great song, great emotion, great words - the Gospel.

When I was just starting to get serious about living the faith I came across Keith Green and Last Days Ministries---they were a great blessing in my life and I can still remember the exact spot I was in when I read of his death in the Evansville, IN newspaper---sitting in the U or E library waiting for my wife to finish an evening class. I had never heard this particular recording of this song and it was great. Thanks.

Clay, Barb, Nav, I am so glad you all have those memories and that this has caused a few "he is risen"s and Alleluia!s. I know-- I often put music up so I can listen and I have a lot today.

Nav, this is totally my fault because I keep forgetting, but all are suppose to leave their whole name, city and state. Everone else too.

A month ago I dowloaded from iTunes this song... it seems to me, to capture- about as well as anything I've heard- the exuberance and joy- of what the women, and disciples must have felt once they found their voices.

Today though is Friday...
grace in abundance...
