An excellent article on SSA (Same Sex Attraction)

The Gospel Coalition site has up an excellent article by someone who has experienced SSA (Same Sex Attraction). Christ has begun a transformation in his life, (For twenty years!). The article is “The Unique Struggle of Same-Sex Attraction” by Haydn Sennitt. I place it here because of some of the arguments that have occurred on my posting, Ruining the Book of Confessions: the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Updated, but more importantly because it is so filled with wisdom, help and the grace of God.  The article begins:

Not long ago, someone asked me how long I've been dealing with same-sex attractions. I was surprised to find a big, round number before me: 20 years. Of those 20 years, five and a half have been as a married man and as a father. I'm not gay: I'm a new creation in Christ. I am a Christian struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions (SSA). I am a pastoral worker and a Bible college student, and homosexuality has been a prominent part of my journey as a Christian. I wish that it were not so, though part of me knows that God has been using this struggle powerfully to bring me to himself.

SSA has shown me how God can work in a specific issue like homosexuality while also showing me glimpses of God's fatherly heart and sin's deep effects on other people.”

There is a problem with the link.

In other news, it's getting harder to prove I'm not a robot. : )

Mr. Sennett, if you are a bi sexual, which appears to be the case, and are happy being married, I celebrate that. I was best man last year at the wedding of a bi man to a woman, whom he plans on being loyal to till death due them part. Should she go to her reward first however, he will be open to love, with a man or woman, whereever God leads him. If you are under the mistaken belief that a relationship with another man would have been any less acceptable in the eyes of God, then you have my deepest pity. Your 20 year struggle was in no way necessary, which is the most tragic part. I wish you well in any case. I shudder when I think of the many men who have struggled for 20, 30, even 40 years, and then look back...so bitter on the unnecessary struggle.

I did not read the link of course, for most "ex gay" (an impossibility) stories are just propeganda. But, I hope you are the exception to the rule, and your marriage a happy and successful one. There are many wonderful groups for you, and your wife, should the time come when she finds being married to a bisexual is untenable, but I hope that does not occur.

Viola, what is it abotut truth that frightens you so. I pointed out Mr. winter had the leader of a SPLC listed hate group, a woman known for her visiousness and hatred of gay people, address his group during the last GA. I wrote not one word that is untrue. It can all be easily confirmed. On the PCUSA website, and her own (if you can read it and not feel the need to bathe, for her hatfulness is...amazing). What I was wrote was the truth...and it says a lot. As I pointed out, it has saved several families who would otherwise have considered such a path after being told of this invite of this person to speak to Oneby1.

Gene, I'm not sure why you are addressing Mr. Sennett on this link when he is not even aware that you are here or me either for that matter! And since you never bothered to read the article I don't think it is appropriate for you to make a comment about him.
And since you already have said the rest too many times--do not comment again on this posting.
