Chick-fil-A, a video, and faithfulness

Perhaps it is because I live in California. Perhaps it is because I am still sad because of the in your face attitude of some at the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s General Assembly. Perhaps it is the questions some are asking about the future.  But I do believe this is a time for orthodox Christians to stay very close to the Lord (He is always close to us) and to care deeply about the welfare of each other. I also believe this is a time to be in constant prayer and care for the non-Christian.  All of us are sinners but some, who are sinners without Jesus, are so very angry in their need for Christ. I believe the video below is a warning about tomorrow.
This is about the Chick-fil-A 'kiss-in' and a group of protesters who allowed themselves to become bullies. In this case the Christian who stands up for his Lord, humbly and in a dignified manner, is a homeless man, while those who bully are the progressives. In fact the most obnoxious one is a well known Occupy activist, Spencer Thayer.

For all of the information go to Le-gal- In-sur-rec-tion at Chicago Chick-fil-A Kiss-In protesters “chalk” homeless street preacher ,” and   Occupy Chicago activist claims to be person taunting homeless man at Chick-fil-A protest.” Writer Anne Sorock has done an excellent job. Be sure and read all of the second posting which has a lot of good and kind information. The other videos prove that what Thayer said about the man reading his Bible is not true.

Here is the main video:

"Therefore I urge you brethern, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:1-2)

Viola,

There are always two sides to every story. In this case, posted in the comment sections, is the following:

"The preacher was equating Gay people to pigs and Satan. He was being loud and rude while using his Bible to interupt the event with the intent of shaming peoples life styles... "

He goes on with some bitterness at the man's affirmations he says he based on Scriptures.

Sometimes such "preachers" are like the slave girl that followed Paul and Silas around in Acts 16. They misrepresent the Gospel, but people who are misinformed about the Gospel don't know that. They think it's the Gospel that's wrong, not the person misrepresenting it.

The best defense is to represent it correctly.

I don't think accusing those who rebel against a misrepresented Gospel of being bullies is helpful. If anything, they are the people God loves, the ones for whom Jesus suffered, and to whom he wants you to better explain the Gospel of Jesus.

Jodie,
If you hunt for it there is a different video that shows the man talking with the people before they get vile. He is not loud nor does he say those things.

Jodie,
The comments you posted are by Spencer Thayer, the gay, OWS activist that was mocking the man.
You took the words of Spencer, a non-believer, to be true and then join in to condemn him for what you believed to be true. Spencer lied and created a story because the activist like Spencer use such lies to enhance their "victimhood" status. It's the tactics of the leftist activist.
The LGBT activist like Spencer are bullies that call for government to punish those that disagree with them, under the guise that it is "hate speech." They want the first amendment rights denied to orthodox Christians. The mayors of Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco stated they would block the building of Chick-fil-a in their cities because of Cathy's statement that he believes in the biblical definition of marriage - one man to one woman.

Chas,

Nah. The 3 minute video doesn't show the preacher for the entire hour he was there. Doesn't matter. You'll believe what you want.

If you believe God tells you that Gays are immoral and must be punished or shunned then you and your God are my enemy.

If you believe in a God with infinite love who accepts everyone under his grace then we can get along. Though I still will never buy into the God nonsense.

Cordially in your face-
but still cordially,

Spencer "Thunderball" Thayer!

Spencer,

I believe God loves you and wants to transform your life in Jesus Christ. I also believe we are all sinners in need of Christ.

Spencer,

You wouldn't be the first person to call it "the God nonsense", nor, I expect, the last. But by the same token, so is Love.

Spenc,

Nah. The 3 minute video doesn't show your insolence for the entire time you were there. Doesn't matter. You'll believe what you want.

If you believe your god tells you that Believers in Christ are immoral and must be punished or shunned then you and your god are my enemy.

If you believe in a God with infinite love who accepts repentant sinners under His grace then we can get along. Though I still will never buy into your nonsense.

Cordially in your face-

The scene brings to mind the Roman soldiers mocking Jesus as they prepared to crucify him.

Exactly.

Viola, I always find it rather funny that the pro-lgbt crowd will use the term "gay" to insult people like the homeless man in the video. By writing "Deep down inside he's gay" and drawing an arrow pointing to the homeless man, Spencer was ridiculing himself even moreso and is too blind to see it. He is destroying his own supposed cause.

Gene, your comments are not helpful. And your themes are always the same. Try a different conversation.

Viola,
I welcome Gene's comments and attacks on me, especially if it may be to show the truth of what Gene and his friends stand for and brings change to someone who has believed their message and now their eyes are being opened to it. I welcome them so my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can be lifted up.

Chas Jay,
I appreciate your desire to lift up Christ but I don't want the comment section of my blog to become so full of rancor. Many do not feel free to comment here when that happens.
