Good verses, I used the Isaiah five one in my last posting. You tackle such a meaty & worthy subject here, as well as in your older posts (I scanned a few).

These are strange days, to say the least; when men twist the scriptural texts or deny them altogether in order to do as they please. It breaks my heart until I hear the echo of Isaish 5:20 and Romans 1:18-32.

So glad you're bringing much needed light and context to such a pivotal, contemporary issue.

Blessings,
Kathleen Flanagan
aka Sassy Granny

Kathleen https://www.blogger.com/profile/05245926913888212148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7560220615271337359.post-10414382627786391702012-11-03T14:22:52.226-07:002012-11-03T14:22:52.226-07:00It's astounding how much of a pretzel one has ...It's astounding how much of a pretzel one has to turn both Scripture and theology into in order to arrive at the conclusion on one particular ethical issue that one has decided on ahead of time.

David Fischler
Woodbridge, VAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7560220615271337359.post-28541572593377602952012-11-03T11:53:29.058-07:002012-11-03T11:53:29.058-07:00Thanks Whit,

There used to be a book about how heretical Christian religions did that. I hesitated to write, but when the twisting starts eating into the center of the gospel it is time to do so.
Viola Larsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146967423654966140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7560220615271337359.post-75758188288350153932012-11-03T10:05:51.971-07:002012-11-03T10:05:51.971-07:00Outstanding summary Viola.
I continually wonder...Outstanding summary Viola.

I continually wonder whether Colby and others arguing for gay marriage really believe the Scriptures say what they claim the Scriptures say, or whether they are simply twisting the words to reach a desired conclusion. That is, are they knaves or fools?

Perhaps the answer is that they do not really believe in the inspired nature of Scripture and that they are God-breathed. And if the Scriptures are merely a culturally contextual human understanding of God, and not God's Word itself, then they can simply ignore what they do not like.Whit Briskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11746100531417140598noreply@blogger.com
